Steve Earle, the founder of the famed Monterey Historics, is done as the organizer of the event after 36 races. Earle and track officials were unable to iron out a new deal, making this year's races--run last weekend--his final lap. SMS Supercars released illustrations this week of its new performance Mustang, which will start at $64,990 for the coupe. SMS is Steve Saleen's new venture, and it is planning two main versions based on the 2010 'Stang. A 470-hp model, the SMS 460, is the “base” car, and a convertible version is $69,990.
Lotus released the details of its Evora GTC race car on Friday, which just found its first customer in McMahon Raceworks with Condor Motorsport. The team will enter the car in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. The engine and the transmission of the GT4 Enduro version are carried over.
